Can you believe it is Week 11 in the NFL already? For the NFL purist, that means that your team is now more than half-way through it’s regular season schedule. But for the fantasy football enthusiast, Week 11 means much more.
For the fantasy football fan it also means that you have very few weeks left before the start of the playoffs, and whether or not you should be buyers, sellers or tweeners. None-the-less, with the trade deadline most likely looming in your league you will need to know who to pick up for the purpose of strengthening your team or to help fill a void if you happen to move a few players for that one stud to put you over the top. Let’s get looking at the list.
Normally the Waiver Wire is written by Tom Schriner, but his grandmother had passed a few days ago and will be taking this week off. My apologies if this is not the normal article that you are used to, but I will do my best to give you everything that you need to know to get to that playoff plateau.
Now onto the FFLockerRoom Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Pickups For Week 11.
Quarterbacks
Josh McCown, Chicago Bears – After struggling with his health in his first game back after suffering a brutal groin injury, Jay Cutler was pulled during the teams last drive in place of McCown. He did not disappoint helping lead a last-minute drive against division rival Detroit Lions, only to fall just short of the victory. In Cutler’s absense McCown has passed for over 500 yards, thrown four touchdowns to 0 interceptions in that span. They do have the Baltimore Ravens to deal with next, so it is not a given that he will continue his solid fantasy numbers, but at this point in the season if you are suffering from injuries you could do worse than this spry vet.
Carson Palmer, Arizona Cardinals – The veteran has struggled mightily this year, passing for more interceptions than touchdowns 15:12, but they do have the third best quarterback match up in the Jacksonville Jaguars. Having tossed 2 touchdowns three times in the last four games, Palmer should shine there. The part of his game that could improve is his yardage as well as interception totals. If he gains any boost in both of those categories, you have a very solid sneak play for Week 11.

Running Backs
Rashad Jennings, Oakland Raiders – Jennings had 117 all-purpose yards in Week 10 and another 112 in Week 9 to go along with 1 touchdown, 9 receptions and 15 targets. With Darren McFadden hurting and the Raiders season starting to spin into oblivion, it would not shock us to see Jennings being the primary ball carrier again against the Houston Texans. Houston is one of the better defenses against the running back position, allowing only 13.9 fantasy points per contest on average, but 13.9 points from a sneak play isn’t too bad. A solid low-end RB2, flex play for Week 13.
Others to consider: Donald Brown, Shane Vereen, Brian Leonard, Bobby Rainey, Mark Ingram, Bernard Pierce, Dennis Johnson, Chris Ogbonnaya
Wide Receivers
Kenny Stills, New Orleans Saints – Stills has quietly chimed in with a touchdown in three out of the last four games that he has seen at least three targets, one of those games being a multi-touchdown contest. Averaging over 75 yards as well, we are talking about 13 fantasy points in standard leagues and 16 in PPR. While not superstar numbers, they are better than many WR3’s in deeper fantasy formats. If he is “stills” on your waiver wire, make a play for him now. His match up isn’t outstanding against the San Francisco 49ers who allow 16.4 fantasy points to opposing wide receiver tandems in 2013, but with Drew Brees showing trust in K.S., isn’t it time that you did too?

Tight Ends
Delanie Walker, Tennessee Titans – Walker has quietly put goether some solid, but unspectacular weeks, finding pay-dirt in three of his last six games, snagging 4 recepetions in three of his last five contests and going for over 50 yards in two of his last three. The Indianapolis Colts can be very tough on opposing tight ends, allowing the seventh least fantasy points, but if you are in dire need of someone to grab and hold out some wishful thinking, this could be your guy.
